Food Store Tataraya Tenjin Area
If you live in Nishijin, you're in luck and if you don't, now you have a good reason to go. Tucked along a small side street, this tiny and rather unremarkable one-room diner is actually a marvellous find for those who'll appreciate the creative genius of chef and owner Tatara's culinary originality and dedication to serving only what's fresh and good for you. There is a biweekly grand menu, but don't bother with it. Instead, tell Tatara-san how you feel (tired, nervous, mellow, etc.) and your budget, and he'll propose a meal designed especially for you. Only organically grown vegetables are used, and generously; and fish is only offered if it's truly fresh. All of this and surprisingly reasonable prices guarantee you'll leave feeling better.
