Hanafusa Tenjin Area
Three years ago Toshio and Emiko Hanafusa shut the doors on Cook Doll, one of Fukuoka's most popular natural food restaurants and retreated to their home located a stone's throw from Maizuru Koen and the ruins of Fukuoka Castle. There, on a reservation-only basis, they serve 100% organic vegetarian Japanese cuisine. Only the purest of natural ingredients are used. For example, instead of supermarket purchased sugar, dishes are sweetened with green onion broth and bean paste. Organic doesn't mean "no fun"; the purple-colored black rice wine at ¥500 per glass hits the spot too!
