Fukuoka Weekend Flea Markets

Enjoy the increasingly warm May weather by wandering around some of the pop-up markets happening in Fukuoka this weekend. Here are three markets to enjoy!

May 12~13 “Nomi no Ichi” Flea Market
The “Nomi no Ichi” flea market is happening at Gokoku Shrine from May 12~13. From 9:00~15:00 each day, visitors can browse the selection of stalls and cafes, where you’ll find curios, antique goods, traditional Japanese items, and sweets. Rain or shine, the market will be held!

May 13 “Yakuin Ten Ten ichi” Flea Market
Yakuin area will come alive with this great flea market on Sunday. In cooperation with local shops and real estate owners, the flea market is held in areas such as Yakuin’s parking lots. All stores in the area are open too, and many small clothing and accessory shops, cafes and bakeries from Yakuin area will join the event. The market will happen rain or shine, but don’t forget to bring your own shopping bag, as there will be none given out with purchases.

May 13 Haruyoshi Night Market
This one-day food market goes well into the evening, making it a great place to visit at your own leisure. The Sun Selco Hiroba will be taken over by stall owners selling everything from yakisoba and fried chicken to fresh seafood. Sellers from the Yanagabashi Rengo Market and the Karatsu Fish Market will bring their specialties. Entry is free, and there will be stage performances throughout the day, including Japanese drummers, hula dancers and a brass band.
