Sports Bar Restaurant Bayern Fukuoka
Here’s a real find, especially if you enjoy European style and flavor. Bayern is the sister shop to Fukuoka’s famous Sailer Bakery known for delicious European breads and pastries. The breakfast set includes your choice of one of five fresh breads, a plate of cold cut meats, pickles and choice of blend or espresso coffee (or juice) for ¥600. Still hungry? Add an option: ¥150 for a plate of eggs (various styles) and two slices of bacon, or ¥150 for a bowl of soup, or ¥100 for a European salad. Amazing value and flavor! And yes, real German beers on tap too!

Rice Cafe Musubime
If you live or work near Tenjin, Rice Cafe musubime is the perfect breakfast spot for a Japanese-style morning meal. Their “Morning Menu” set includes omusubi (rice balls) and miso soup. Each omusubi is made from order by hand and served warmed. There are 17 kinds of omusubi to choose from and a different brand of rice is used each month. The “Morning Set” includes tamagokake-gohan (raw egg on rice), miso soup, and tsukemono (pickles). The cafe is operated by JA (Japan Agriculture) Zennoh Fukuren so you’re guaranteed that food is locally sourced and fresh.

Bakery Restaurant Current
The view from Current’s patio of Nogita Beach, Itoshima alone is worth the drive from Fukuoka. Combined with one of their four breakfast sets, we can’t imagine a better start to the day. The “Current Set” includes a basket selection of freshly baked breads from the restaurant’s adjoining bakery, an Itoshima farm-fresh egg, Itoshima bacon, vegetable soup, salad and a bottomless cup of coffee – all for just ¥770! A “Sandwich Set”,“Thick Toast Set” and “Daily Special” are also available. Word has gotten out already so expect to wait for a table on weekends. Even so, it’s worth it!

The enormous Seala Buffet is located on the fourth floor, with a 40m high glass ceiling and ocean view. Plaza Hotel Premier
There are many reasons to recommend here for a breakfast including its great location in the heart of Daimyo, Tenjin district. The buffet offers a wide variety of both Western and Japanese style dishes including their very popular French Toast. Okiyo Shokudo
Located inside the Nagahama fish market, Okiyo Shokudo serves up fresh seafood from 6am daily, making it a great spot to try a unique Japanese-style breakfast. Popular menu items include mackerel teishoku, sardine tempura teishoku, and squid tempura teishoku (¥630 each). The fish is caught the night before and cooked up for your breakfast (or lunch!), so you’re guaranteed the freshest seafood. Check out the observation floor for a great view of the bay.

Bakery Kitchen Raggruppi
A short walk from Ohori Park, this “bakery kitchen” is so-named for the belief that bread can be an integral part of a meal. The first floor houses a bakery shop, while upstairs is a fashionable café space modeled on a New York-style studio. For breakfast, fill up with the “Omelet Morning Set”, including an omelet, all-you-can-eat bread and one drink (¥700), or the simple “Bread Morning Set” of all-you-can-eat bread and one drink (¥500). The staff are particular about what goes into their bread, which is all additive-free. Flour from either Kyushu or France is used, depending on the type of bread, and vegetables and eggs are locally-sourced as much as possible. It’s this attention to detail that has won Raggruppi many fans among local bread-lovers.

IKEA
Kyushu’s first IKEA store launched a breakfast buffet on April 11 to celebrate its first anniversary. IKEA Shingu serves an 18-item breakfast buffet for just ¥499. It’s a one plate deal, but there’s no limit on how high you can stack the food, so you can really fill up on everything from scrambled eggs, bacon, salad, waffles, bread, pastries and more! The breakfast buffet is only open on weekends and banking holidays, 08:30 ~ 10:45 and limited to the first 300 persons. If you happen to go to IKEA on a weekday, however, you can pick up a “Morning Plate” of scrambled egg and bacon for just ¥99.

Cafe Teco
Cafe Teco is a real find. Tucked away in Kego, it serves up delicious food in the warm, earthy surroundings of a converted old Japanese house. Stop by in the morning from 9:00 and choose from the five or six breakfast sets available daily. Cafe Teco recommends their “Omusubi Set” (¥380) which includes a big omusubi riceball, miso soup and salad; the “Tamagokake-gohan Set” (¥380) including grain rice, miso soup, salad and a raw egg; the “Toast Set” (¥380) including toast, salad and a drink (coffee or organic juice). If that’s not enough choice, there’s also a “Scone Set”, “Genmai-gohan (brown rice) Set”, “Medama-yaki (sunny-side up) Set” and more! Plus, all drinks are discounted to ¥100 in the morning.

Hyatt Regency Le Café
If you’re looking for a full breakfast in the Hakata Station area,The Hyatt Regency Fukuoka’s restaurant Le Café offers buffet style breakfast in a European atmosphere. There’s a variety of Japanese and Western style breakfast items on the buffet. Cold options include smoked salmon, ham, Italian salami, camembert cheese, fresh salad vegetables, potato salad, a variety of cereals, yoghurts, fruit compote and fresh fruits too. Stop by the egg station for fried or scrambled eggs, which go great with the crispy bacon, sausages, hash browns, walnut raisin rolls, toast, waffles, pancakes, and scones on offer. Seattle’s Best Coffee
With several locations in the city and a consistent breakfast menu (with great coffee, of course!) Seattle’s Best Coffee is a no-fail breaky spot. Their morning menu includes a Ham & Cheese Croissant Set (¥360), Morning Dog Set (¥340), Egg Salad & Ham Sandwich Set (¥360) and Thick Toast Set (¥280). All of these morning sets include a drink of your choice (ice/hot coffee, ice/hot tea, 100% juice (apple or orange), ice/hot latte (+¥500), ice/hot caramel latte (+¥100) There’s also a Creamy Chilled Soup with bread (¥380, drink not incl.).
