Bargain Guide – Fukuoka Golden Week 2015

Everybody knows that Golden Week is a great time to go shopping – but unless you read Japanese, you might be missing out on a lot of the deals. We’ve picked up and compiled a list of bargain promotions for over a dozen of Fukuoka’s large shopping facilities. We’ve done our best to be accurate, but if you’re concerned, check with the original websites to confirm details. Now- ready, steady, shop!

MINA TENJIN GOLDEN WEEK FAIR 4.29 (Wed. & Hol.) ~ 5.10 (Sun.)
Special sales will be held at all shops including Uniqlo’s. Up to 50% off at some fashion shops! Also Muji recently began offering tax free service to visitors from overseas. So now there are three shops in Mina Tenjin that offer tax free service: Uniqlo, Matsumoto Kiyoshi and Muji.

SOLARIA PLAZA GRAND OPEN FAIR 4.25 (Sat.) ~ 5.10 (Sun.)
Solaria Plaza has been under refurbishment for two years for its largest renovation since it was first built. Finally, it’s second grand opening will take place on Apr 25. 33 brand new shops will open and all existing shops will have celebratory events such as sales and present giveaways.

On the day of and the day after the grand opening, Nimoca card holders will receive 10 times the number of point on each purchase.

This exhibition will include animation materials of the world famous TV anime “Heidi, Girl of the Alps”, a photo exhibition of Switzerland and a photo exhibition of the the author of the story, Johanna Spyri’s, hometown. There will be a souvenir photo booth and a painting workshop. Heidi’s cafe corner will sell white bread modeled on the story. Various other items will also be on sale.

“Athletic World” returns, but this time with more. This year, “Safari World” allows visitors to pet, touch or take photos with camels, penguins and hedgehogs. “Athletics World” includes a “Bungee Trampoline”, “Water Trampoline”, “Trampoline” and “Kid’s Bike Circuit”.
