Music
Songs and chants can be highly effective learning activities for language students of all ages and levels. Share your tips for great songs and how you use them in class and find insight and inspiration as others give their own ideas.

Topics for thought and discussion (feel free to bring your own, too!):
*Share some of your favorite tunes for classroom use
*Consider student maturity level and language ability level, plus achievability of lyrics
*What are your expectations: Enjoyment? Comprehension? Producing similar language?
*How many times can you use a song for a class? How can it stay fresh?
*General tips for chants and songs
*Actions and other activities for songs
*Setting up a song, wrapping up a song, connecting it to other activities
*Music outside the classroom

Expo Help
The Kyushu Expo is the biggest event of the year for English teachers in western Japan, and it’s coming up on 12/3. We’re a 100% volunteer grassroots organization, so this is your chance to contribute! We are looking for local presenters and volunteers.
*Presenters (give a presentation at the Expo)
*Promotion (pre-Expo: distribute flyers, word of mouth, and social media shares)
*Venue Liaison (Japanese native to help represent ETJ in talking with Seinan)
*Saturday Volunteers (set up on the afternoon before the Expo, 12/2)
*Reception Help (check in attendees, collect fees, distribute info)
*Technician (assist presenters in connecting to AV equipment)
*ETJ Book Service (assist with book sales, must speak Japanese and English)
*General volunteers (put up signs, help attendees find the venue, run errands, assist presenters, clean up, etc.)

After Party: Enjoy drinks and dinner in Nishijin after the meeting! It will be a great chance to focus on teaching, exchange ideas, and network with other teachers in the Fukuoka community.
