This opening is for a position as a Full-Time Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) in Chikugo City, Fukuoka Prefecture starting in April 2018 to March 2019.

As a Non-Profit organization, we are looking for high-quality teachers: Individuals who are world-thinkers, team players, and contributors to society who want to make a positive impact on children’s lives.
The placement will be in Elementary Schools, and Junior Highschools throughout Chikugo City, Fukuoka Prefecture where the ALT will assist as a team teacher and help plan English lessons under a schedule created by GLAD and the Board of Education. As well as teaching English lessons, you may also be asked to participate in other school activities such as clubs, cleaning of the school and cultural festivals.
Position Requirements:
・Must be a native speaker of English, or have acquired an education in English for at least 12 years.
・Must have completed a University Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in English countries.
・Must be currently residing in Fukuoka or have plans to come here at your own expense.
・Must have a strong interest in Japanese culture and language and be able to connect with Japanese people.
・Must have at least one year of English teaching experience at Elementary schools, Junior High Schools OR experience of working with children.
・Must have a valid visa status that allows you to live and work in Japan (Visa sponsorship available)
・Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable car in order to commute to schools, legally.
・Priority: Conversational Japanese in order to successfully plan lessons with Japanese Teachers of English in the Kindergartens and Elementary Schools.

Contract: April 2018 to March 2019
Conditions:
・Base salary is 210,000 to 230,000 yen per month (based on experience as an ALT)
・Monday to Friday. 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (this is an approximate time and depends on each school which you teach at)
・Transportation costs will be covered at a certain rate per month.
・Days off include weekends, National Holidays, and other holidays set on the Board of Education’s school calendar.
