Shoryu, the company behind Eikoku Shoryu, is perhaps best known for its successful chain of tonkotsu ramen shops in London. Though ramen features on the new restaurant’s menu, Shoryu Eikoku focuses more on izakaya-style foods. It also boasts an extended collection of wines imported from around the world.

Shoryu was founded by Tak Tokumine, who also opened the Japan Centre in London’s Piccadilly Circus. Despite being a Fukuoka native, this is his first endeavour at opening a restaurant in Japan. Mr. Tokumine attended the opening ceremony and was extremely pleased with the opening. To ensure the new restaurant’s success in its opening stages, he has brought over several of his best staff from the UK to Fukuoka.
