Oct. 1 is International Coffee Day! To celebrate, some of Fukuoka’s premier cafes are hosting a Coffee Festival. Booths will sell food & drink, including alcoholic beverages and – of course – coffee. Try a cup of Joe from Manu – perfect with a Canezee’s donut! You can also shop for bric-a-brac, such as hammocks, clothing and Hasamiyaki ceramics. Plus catch a live music performance, make new animal friends and ride ponies at the mobile zoo, or join a workshop; workshops include ceramics painting and how to make senko hanabi (Japanese sparklers). You can also see traditional mochi-pounding!
