Celebrating the 70th anniversary of DEFA (Deutsche Film Aktiengesellschaft), Cine-La is showing lesser known East German films. DEFA was a German film maker from 1946 to 1990, the end of East Germany. They made over 7,000 films, documentaries and news. After 1990 it was privatized and its film archives are managed by DEFA Foundation This is the first time these films are shown in this scale inside Japan.
