Kumamoto’s Contemporary Art Museum is holding a special Studio Ghibli themed exhibition. The exhibition includes wallpapers, art boards and production materials from a variety of different Ghibli films from the oldest, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, to the newest, When Marnie Was There. You can also see 13 buildings from Studio Ghibli re-constructed in 3D such as the bathhouse in “Spirited Away” or the house of Satsuki and Mei in My Neighbor Totoro. Furthermore there will be an “Illusion Conference ~ Building Special” on December 4 where there will be a discussion about the future of Kumamoto’s buildings following the damages caused by the recent earthquake. Mr. Fujimoto and Takanori Aoki of Studio Ghibli will be special guests.
