This year, wrestlers from as far as Georgia, Brazil, Russia, Egypt, and Bulgaria are competing. Despite not competing for the past three basho, Kakuryu (Mongolia) will be making a comeback here, where he won last year’s competition. Fukuoka’s very own sumo star Shohozan will be competing, too! Sumo is an iconic part of Japanese culture, so don’t miss your chance to see the wrestlers in action!
