Discover the special charms of Hakata crafts at this event! There will be a wide selection of traditional Hakata products and unusual items made using traditional materials, such as rings and guitar straps made from Hakata ori (woven textiles). This is the third Shin Hakata Ikiden event, and there will not only be crafts on sale, but demonstrations of how Hakata ningyo (dolls) and Hakata ori are made – there will also be a special exhibition of Hakata ori, and you can even try making Hakata ori yourself. There will also be a photo exhibition by Isao Nishiyama (general editor of Studio Journal Knock), featuring works by visiting artists from around the world.
