Ishibashi Bunka Center has the largest rose garden in Fukuoka. The peak season lasts for about a month starting in early May with 2,600 roses of over 400 varieties. During Golden Week, many events will also be held, including live music, rose workshops, displays of rose arrangements and kiribana (flower cutting) and the opening of a rose sweets cafe (featuring Austrian sweets). To tie in with “The Genesis and Development of Landscape Painting from Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien” exhibit at the Ishibashi Museum of Art (4/2 ~ 6/12), the theme of part of the fair this year will be “Austria”.
