This festival has been held since the 1500s. The highlight is the parade of 14 ornately decorated, five-meter-high floats built in the shape of auspicious symbols: a carp, a dragon, a lion, etc. These are wheeled through the streets accompanied by the beat of taiko drums and the vigorous chants of the handlers.
