With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, many people are turning their thoughts to romance. If you’re looking for your future spouse, then sign up for Nishitetsu’s first konkatsu (translation: marriage hunting event)! Between 11:30 and 12:00, 72 groom/bride-spotters will register and board Tabito the tourist train at Nishitetsu Chikushi Station. This train will whisk the participants to Dazaifu, entertaining them on the journey with special introduction events and lunch. Around 14:00, the beaux-hunters will take a bus to Kamado Shrine, where they have two hours to mingle before “coupling time” – the time when everyone has to pair up. Each fledgling couples will then write a wish on an ema (wooden votive tablet). At 17:00, the event ends (although, hopefully, many relationships will have started). Those who are interested must sign up on the official site by 2/29 (Mon.). Happy bride/hubby hunting!
