One of the main tourism spots in the Itoshima region is Meoto-iwa in Futamigaura. Every year, a ceremony is held on one Sunday in late April ~ May to replace the shimenawa (straw garland) that encircles Meoto-iwa. At 30 m long and weighing 1 tonne, the Shimenawa will require 50 men to hang it over the rock.
