The Takachiho Gorge light-up is recognized as a historically significant night view. The gorgeous scenery will be illuminated from Nov. 1 to Feb. 19 next year, providing visitors the chance to take in an area steeped in Japanese mythology from an entirely new perspective. Shinto Takachiho Kamiakari light-up events have been taking place at regular intervals throughout the year, but viewing the Manai Falls (voted one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the country) illuminated by the latest LED lights during the festive period is sure to be a truly magical experience. (Please be aware that the ground will be very dark at night, so be careful when walking around the gorge.)
