Valentine ‘Choko’ Pottery Exhibition at Acros Fukuoka

START: Feb 10, 2017 END: Feb 13, 2017

The Japanese word for “sake cup”, ochoko, sounds like the Japanese word for “chocolate”, choco, so this exhibition plays on the phrase “Valentine choco” – instead of giving your Valentine the typical box of chocolate, give them a heart-shaped sake cup (particularly if you love a sake-lover!). A heart-shaped ochoko at this exhibition will cost somewhere between ¥1,080 and ¥3,000. If you’re lucky, you may see one of the expert craftsmen working with the potter’s wheel. This year is the 10th anniversary of this exhibition, 1,000 choko will be exhibited in total (500 at Acros and 500 at Agano-yaki pottery museum, Fukuchi-machi, Fukuoka). Get a free chocolate with each purchase.
