Nakamura Gakuen University and Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine will be staging the Yakuzen Expo 2017 at the beginning of September. The event promotes the benefits that Japanese-style medicinal cooking (based on traditional Chinese techniques) can have on people’s health. Zones will be set up in the venue where visitors can purchase snacks and learn more about the philosophy behind the products. Symposiums and lectures will also be held for visitors looking to find out more about yakuzen and Japanese food culture. Organizers are expecting guests in the tens of thousands, and hope that the expo will teach people how the food we eat can help with not only preventing diseases but also with extending life expectancy.
