Marvel Age of Heroes Report

From Marvel Comic’s humble beginnings (even with mentions of their rivalry to D.C. Comics!) up to their current, widespread popularity and influence in modern art, the Marvel Age of Heroes exhibition is a must-see for Marvel fans. Fukuoka Now checked it out, and we give it two thumbs up! (Want to win one pair of tickets? Scroll below for our ticket giveaway!)

The entrance features comic book front covers over the decade and life-sized statues of The Hulk and various Ironman costumes. This area also serves as the designated photo spots – photography in other parts is strictly prohibited.

Divided in five sections titled “HISTORY,” “HERO,” “CINEMATIC UNIVERSE,” “ART,” and “CULTURE,” the exhibit has detailed information in both English and Japanese. Costumes from the actual Marvel movies in exhibition include those from Thor, Captain America, Ironman, The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Spiderman: Homecoming, Guardians of the Galaxy, and more.

Another delight is the TV panels within the exhibit which show special interviews of various Marvel movie actors talking about the characters they played and movie excerpts. Also, if you find yourself confused by the many Marvel movies out there, fear not – one section shows the movies in chronological order.

The end of the exhibit features an official shop selling goods ranging from t-shirts, bags, smartphone cases, stationery, posters, and more.
