On Aug. 31, the Asoboy! Hita Hikosan Line train is coming to Fukuoka Prefecture. Only 120 people can ride (108 people are required for this tour to run). Tickets sell at ¥5,800 for one adult and ¥3,800 for one child for basic seats– travelers can sit on one of twenty-seven special seats for an additional fee of ¥500. Special seats include the Shiroi Kuro-chan Seats (only nine spots available and only eligible for people accompanying children under ES), and the Panorama Seats (18 spots available). The ticket fee also includes a bento, tea, and 12 or more souvenirs, including tenugui, postcards and bamboo chopsticks. Ticket registration is available between 7/22 (Fri.) and 8/16 (Tue.), or until the train reaches full capacity. The train departs from Mojiko Sta. (9:15) and makes several stops at Kokura Sta. (9:30), Jono Sta. (9:40), Saidosho Sta. (arrives 10:05, 10:20), before arriving at Hita Sta. (12:00). It then returns from Hita Sta. (12:35), making stops at Jono Sta. (15:10), Kokura Sta. (15.20), Ishiharamachi Sta. (arrives 14:30, departs 15:00), and finally stopping at Mojiko Sta. (15:40). Tourism PR events and raffles – where you could have the chance to win Kumamoto beef among other things – are available at Saidasho, Ishiharamachi and Hita stations.
