The Chinese company “ofo” announced their entry into the Kitakyushu City bike sharing market this April. The new service, which began on April 9, is aimed at international visitors. The bicycles will cost ¥100 for 30 minutes or can be rented for an entire day at the cheaper rate of just ¥500. Cyclists can use their smartphones to pay for the service through the ofo mobile app which is supports 18 languages (including English, Chinese, and Korean). The company operates in more than 250 cities across 21 countries. They set up a presence in Wakayama City on March 28.
