Cabbage Theft in Saga Prefecture

A farm in Saga Prefecture was robbed. Police confirmed that approximately 500 Chinese cabbages (hakusai) worth ¥150,000 were stolen from a field in the town of Miyaki. The missing harvest was reported to the authorities on January 31. The police are working on the assumption that a sudden rise in the price of hakusai was behind the crime. The victim expressed shock and frustration at losing produce before getting the chance to deliver it to the market. Source: NHK News Web, 1/31/2018
