Japan’s land ministry has announced it will begin a three-day all-you-can-ride discount service for Kyushu’s expressways on July 15. Limited to vehicles equipped with ETC cards, the cost will be ¥6,500 for regular (“white plate”) cars and ¥5,200 for minicars (“yellow plate”) and motorcycles. The discount is available on all expressways administered by NEXCO West. Tourist numbers have not rebounded since the Kumamoto Earthquakes, especially in hard-hit areas like Aso, so the government hopes this campaign will spur tourism throughout Kyushu. Source: Yahoo!
