Ezaki Glico’s Saga Branch to Close

Food manufacturers Ezaki Glico announced that two branches in Saga and Hiroshima are going to shut down as the company tries to consolidate its domestic bases. Kyushu Glico, which manufactures snacks such as Cheeza and the gum Kiss Mint, will be dissolved along with Hiroshima Glico Dairy next year. The news comes as Glico revealed losses of ¥535 million for the fiscal year that has just passed. The closures are part of a wider strategy that Glico has initiated, which will see the company focus on core products such as “Pocky” and reduce the number of other items they manufacture in the process.
