The Fukuoka Asia Collection fashion show of local Fukuoka brands will be presented in Dalian, China, on January 9 at an annual exhibition of fashions shown in that city. The Fukuoka Asia Collection was launched in March 2009 by a group consisting of the Fukuoka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Fukuoka Prefecture, Fukuoka City, and companies in the apparel industry. They have held two fashion shows in Japan, but this is the first to be held overseas. The group is interested in using Japanese fashions to promote Fukuoka companies overseas, particularly in Asia, and this year’s show will focus on “kawaii”, or cute fashions, which are attracting attention abroad.
