Fukuoka City to Provide Subsidies for International Entrepreneurs

Fukuoka City will offer financial support to international entrepreneurs to help with the cost of accommodation and office space for up to a year. Recipients can receive support for up to 50% of their monthly rent (¥70,000 for a private sector apartment and ¥50,000 for office facilities). The aim of the initiative is to attract business-minded individuals from all over the world who are looking for an opportunity to establish a start-up in Fukuoka. Fukuoka City residents who hold a business manager visa and have established a business after April 1, 2016 are eligible for the subsidy. Companies are also required to specialize in specific industries, such as knowledge creation, healthcare, energy, logistics, or trade that can contribute to Fukuoka’s competitiveness on the international stage and help reduce unemployment. The city is now accepting applications until 17:00 on May 15, 2018. Click here for more details. Source: Fukuoka City, 3/30/2018
