Fukuoka City to Subsidize Fertility Treatment

Fukuoka City announced an increase in the funding available for fertility treatment. The city has made support for IVF available, but now plans to offer more help for those with fertility issues by encouraging early treatment and offering subsidies for artificial insemination. Financial support will be made available to women under the age of 40 who have a household income of less than ¥7.3 million. Up to 50% of the cost for rounds of artificial insemination, which began after April 1 this year, will be covered. The maximum amount available is ¥50,000 and people are allowed to apply multiple times. The city will spend in the region of ¥107.6 million on subsidies this fiscal year.
