Fukuoka Growth Next (FGN), a facility that supports ventures and new start-ups, celebrated their one year anniversary this April. The public-private initiative has raised seven times more than their initial target. FGN aimed to procure ¥500 million in funding for companies they support during their first year and half in operation. However, the service has already succeeded in raising more than ¥3.7 billion. An event was held on their premises in central Fukuoka City to mark one year since they were established. Fukuoka City Mayor Soichiro Takashima attended the celebrations and stated that Fukuoka will continue to offer assistance to new companies. Source: Nikkei Shimbun, 4/19/2018
