Ichiran Announces Opening of Brooklyn Shop

After nearly 10 years of preparation, Fukuoka-based ramen chain Ichiran has announced it will open a new shop in Brooklyn, New York on Oct. 19. The shop will be its second overseas and its first in the United States. Ichiran has grown to encompass 60 shops throughout Japan and one in Hong Kong, which opened in 2013. The Ichiran Brooklyn shop will be situated adjacent to an Ichiran plant that will make ramen ingredients. (In Japan, Ichiran’s only ramen plant is located in Itoshima.) A bowl of Ichiran’s trademark Classic Tonkotsu Ramen will cost $18.90. To coincide with its opening, Ichiran Brooklyn will offer Ichiran Tonkotsu Ramen including Original Red Dry Sauce, a special souvenir three-pack of ramen ($39) that will only be available in Brooklyn.
