Kyuden Establishes New Urban Development Section

Kyushu Electric Power Co., Inc. (Kyuden) announced that they will set up a new section to build strategies in the large-scale urban development market. Kyuden helped coordinate urban development projects at various sites before, but had to withdraw due to financial concerns that were related to the long-term suspension of nuclear power plants. There has recently been an increase in revenue directed at restarting a number of plants, which has given Kyuden a chance re-enter the frame. The news comes as numerous redevelopment projects started to take shape around the Hakata and Tenjin areas. The new department will be responsible for gathering information and exploring how the company can participate in these ventures. Source: Sankei Shimbun, 2/1/2018
