Kyuden to Carry Out Experiments on Electric Vehicles

Kyushu Electric Power Co., Inc. (Kyuden) announced on May 31 that they will carry out substantive experiments on electric vehicles (EV). Starting from this June, the company will attempt to balance the supply and demand of electric power that is used when combining solar energy with electric vehicle batteries. This will help compensate for instability issues with output, which is seen as one of renewable energy’s major weaknesses. Kyuden will work on the project alongside the Central Research Institute of Electric Power Industry, Nissan Motor Company, Ltd., Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, and Mitsubishi Electric Corporation.
