Kyuden to Deliver Agricultural Produce

Kyushu Electric Power Co., (Kyuden) is trialing a service that delivers fresh vegetables and agricultural produce. The company is looking to diversify as competition in the electrical power market intensify following the government’s decision to liberalize the industry. Kyuden will purchase vegetables from local farmers before distributing them to eateries around Tenjin and Hakata. The company will employ up to four members of staff for the new service, which will be called “Osuso”. A special website has been set-up that not only accept orders, but also provides information about the participating farms and the cultivation process for the available produce.
