Operating trials for the unopened route of the Kyushu Shinkansen from Fukuoka City to Yatsushiro are slated to begin in September. According to authorities, the civil engineering work and the work to lay the tracks is 100% complete. Work on the stations and the train storage area is 91% complete and proceeding smoothly. The trials should take three months.
