Mobile Trailer on Display to Help Raise Awareness about Disaster Prevention Measures

A trailer has been set up on the grounds of the former Daimyo Elementary School to highlight how mobile accommodation can be utilized to help survivors in disaster-hit areas. The display, known as Pop-up Commons, will remain in place until next September. It is part of a project that aims to help develop Fukuoka’s disaster prevention measures and comes as proposals have been put forward to transport mobile trailers to disaster-hit areas so that they can be used as additional accommodation or clinics. The trailer in Daimyo will also help demonstrate how equipment such as laser cutters can be used on wood and building materials in the event of a disaster. Source: Mainichi Shimbun, 6/6/2017
