Fukuoka is twinned with Auckland City, New Zealand and, to celebrate their 30th anniversary, a team from Auckland will playing against the Munakata Sanix Blues in Aug. 2017. The Rugby World Cup will come to Japan in 2019 and Fukuoka is hoping to invite teams to train in the city in the run up to the competition. Source: Rugby Republic, Nov. 15, 2016
