Changes in the system for the inspection expenses for fresh fish imports to China will result in higher costs when it is implemented in April. Nagasaki Prefecture announced it will use money from an employment fund to assume the increased costs and maintain the liability for businesses at the current level. China changed its laws to require an inspection for every issuance of a certification. The Japanese government has decided to transfer the work of issuing these certifications from local governments to the private sector, which will increase costs.
