ANA Holdings’ new regular cargo route, which will call at Kitakyushu Airport late on Mondays, went into operation on June 4. The company’s freight plane will fly from Kansai to Kitakyushu, and then to Naha five times a week. After arriving in Okinawa, the goods will then be delivered to countries throughout Asia, arriving in cities such as Shanghai and Bangkok by the next morning. A ceremony took place late at night on June 4 to commemorate the new flight path. The mayor of Kitakyushu City attended the event, along with the head of ANA’s Kyushu Branch, who expressed a desire to help logistics develop in the region. Approximately 30 tons of automobile parts were loaded on board in Kitakyushu before the cargo plane’s 12:40 a.m. departure. Source: Nikkei Shimbun, 6/5/2018
