New Multipurpose Building to Open in Hakata Next Fall

JR Kyushu has announced plans to build a multipurpose building in Hakata Ward, with a luxury version of its Blossom Hotel as the core tenant. Located on Hakata Ekimae-dori Ave. in between JR Hakata Station and Canal City, the new building will have one floor below ground, 14 floors above ground and a total floor area of 15,300 m2. The exterior design will look like Hakata-ori textiles. The first three floors will house shops and a community space, while floors 4~14 will house 238 hotel rooms. More than half of the rooms will measure more than 30 m2 in an aim to meet the demand from both Japanese and foreign visitors. The building is scheduled to open in fall 2019. Source: fiba.jp
