The Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co., Ltd (Nishitetsu) announced that they will acquire a 90% share in a logistics company based in New Zealand this April. Nishitetsu will purchase a stake in GCS Logistics, a company that specializes in cargo transportation, as they look to strengthen their business network in the Oceania region and aim to expand their global distribution base to 130 cities across 35 countries around the world. GCS recorded an operating revenue of approximately ¥1.143 billion during the 2016 fiscal year and a profit of ¥28 million.
