The Nishi-Nippon Railroad (Nishitetsu) is offering rental study cubicles in an office building it owns in the Tenjin district of Fukuoka City. It has created 38 cubicles in a 125 square meter office space on the fourth floor of the Tenjin Meiji-Dori Building, which it bought in 2008. The objective is to create new demand for office space during the economic downturn and reduce the number of vacant offices in their properties. They hope the cubicles will be rented by adults seeking to enhance their job prospects or by university students studying for exams.
