Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co., Ltd., (Nishitetsu) saw a 4.7% growth in income last year. The revenue of 375.2 billion yen is a record-high for Nishitetsu, as well as the first increase in revenue in three years. The growth is accredited to the increase in international logistics, such as handling semiconductors for Chinese and Taiwanese companies. Other reasons for the growth are the popularity of Marine World Uminonakamichi, which was renovated last year, and the increased ridership on their highway buses related to the increase of foreign visitors last year. President Kuratomi of Nishitetsu is expecting to see a further increase of income next year, but a decrease in profits. The reason for this is the reconstruction of the Fukuoka Building and the Tenjin Core, and the associated costs to compensate the current tenants for moving out. Source: Mainichi Shimbun, 5/10/2018
