Prefecture sets up Center to Provide Disaster Information to Foreigners

Fukuoka Prefecture and the Fukuoka International Exchange Foundation have opened the Multilingual Disaster Support Center inside the Foundation’s office in ACROS Fukuoka in Tenjin. The center will provide information and emergency interpreting services to foreign residents and tourists in the event of a disaster. The center will collect information on foreigners from local municipalities affected by disasters, and based on this, it will dispatch volunteer interpreters and translators where needed. It will also provide translations of Disaster Prevention info-mail messages. Interpreting and translation services are available in English, Chinese and Korean. Source: fiba.jp
