Security Cameras Fixed to Vending Machines in Ogori

Security cameras have been placed on vending machines in Ogori to prevent crime. In what is believed to be a first for Fukuoka Prefecture, recording devices have been attached to vending machines in the Mitsusawa Community Center and the car park beside Misakigaoka Station by a local NPO called Genkidanetto. The equipment costs about ¥200,000 to install and ¥20,000~30,000 a year to maintain. The cost will be covered by using 20% of the vending machines sales. The head of the NPO hopes that the cameras will contribute to safety in the local area. Source: Mainichi Shimbun, 3/9/2018
