Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co., Ltd (Nishitetsu) plans to redevelop the Fukuoka (Fuku) Building, which is located in central Tenjin. Developers are currently working on designs for the building with the aim of completing the project by 2024. Tenjin Core will close in March 2020 as part of the new development. A new commercial complex and office space will be constructed inside the multi-purpose site, which will be attached to Tenjin Vivre. The planners hope for the building to become a symbol of Tenjin and a popular shopping destination in Kyushu. Details of the redevelopment schedule will be announced at a later date.
