Kumamoto Pref. – Sagara village has announced plans to collaborate with the village of Saint-Valentin in France to create Valentine’s themed events. The village’s name, Sagara (相良 in kanji), translates to ‘better compatability’ (相性が良くなる), and the people of Sagara hope couples who visit the city will find good fortune. The first Valentine’s festival in Sagara village will be held on Feb. 12 (Sat.) and the village plans to continue with new projects from next year onwards. Source: Sankei News, Feb. 4, 2017
