Whale Festival at JR Hakata

A whale-themed festival is scheduled to place take in front of JR Hakata Station on February 13 and 14. The Japan Whaling Association issued a press release outlining the details of the event. Meat from whales caught during scientific research expeditions will be used in dishes that will go on sale during the festival. Panels outlining the practice and history of whaling in Japan will also be on display. Staff from the Institute of Cetacean Research will also be in attendance to discuss whaling in present day Japan. Source: Japan Whaling Association Press Release, 1/25/2018
