Located in the Otemon area of Chuo-ku, Fukuoka, “Stand By Me” is a new traveller’s hostel with a unique concept which opened yesterday (June 15, 2017). The 3-storey building offers a standing bar on the first floor while single, twin, and dormitory rooms (ladies-only dormitory available, too) totaling to 32 beds can be found at the second and third floors. At the bar, patrons can signal their mood to other patrons using coasters with words on them: “Kanpai!” means you welcome company while “I love sake” means you prefer to be alone. Dish items made with local Fukuoka produce and conversations with new faces are just some of the many things you can enjoy here. Drink, chat, stay the night, and wake up to a beautiful Otemon morning at Stand By Me!
