Yakimonoya – New Kyoto Style Yakitori & Yakiniku

Last night Fukuoka Now checked out one of our newest sponsors – and we were pleasantly surprised! Yakimonoya – (literally “the grill shop”) is unique in that it features both yakitori and yakiniku in one restaurant. The head chef is from Kyoto where for many years he ran a chicken specialty restaurant. He’s brought some interesting new twists to the yakitori menu, such as french mustard sauce on the sasami (chicken breast skewer) – and it was sublime! He methodically and patiently grilled each skewer one by one to perfection. But if you prefer to cook your own food, then order cuts of beef, chicken, or fish and grill it yourself on a mini smokeless gas grill. We grilled up some saba-no-marin (horse mackerel with marin sauce). Excellent! They have salads and lots of fresh veggies too. As a special service to Fukuoka Now readers, they take 10% your bill if you mention “Fukuoka Now”. Yakimonoya, 2-2-57 Daimyo, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka. Tel.: 092-731-6040, Open: 17:00~25:00 (L.O.: 24:00). 焼きもの家(やきものや)福岡市中央区大名2-2-57
